Trick Switch has been created over an 11-year period by owner and coach Sim Davis. Our Kelowna location has made its official start in 2024 with Sim and new co-owner, Jake Lamb, joining forces to build the best wake outfit in Canada.
Our WSWC certified Team has experience in all parts of the watersports industry including coaching, professional riding, boat building, boat sales, board design, event management, tournament driving and competition judging.
With over 35 years experience combined, in multiple countries, including Canada, Australia, the US and parts of the Caribbean, we have every bit of knowledge and advice for all of your boating and watersports needs.
Our aim is to make watersports more accessible, safer and more enjoyable for all of our clients.

We offer all kinds of programs including:
- Structured lessons with professional one on one feedback at every point of your skiing or riding.
- Flexible riding time. This means you aren't always on the clock. We will always extend riding time to get into the finer details of your riding or skiing.
- Personal demonstrations from our coaches. If time allows, and we feel it would be beneficial, your coach will be able to demonstrate various tricks and techniques to help you visualize what to do along with the instruction.
- Follow up contact to check on progress.
- Online or phone support via video referrals and instructional.
- Equipment advice to help you set up your ride to suit your style or to help you find the best equipment through one of our recommended retailers. If you can't find it, we'll help in any way possible.
- Boat driving instruction focused on safety and aiding you in giving you skier or rider the best possible chance to succeed. We'll even show you how to keep that water glassy all day long with some simple tricks and tips.
- Boat set up advice. Don't know what rope to use? Can't figure out where the best place to put weight or ballast? Don't know what that weird icon is on the touch screen of your brand new boat means? Have an old boat that wasn't designed for big wakes but you'd like to be able to Wakeboard or Surf behind it? We'll show you everything you need to know.
- Honest boat buying advice. We have the experience to pass onto you for all brands including Malibu, Nautique, Mastercraft, Axis, Supra, Moomba, Heyday, Centurion, Chaparral and more.

What services does Trick Switch offer?
We cover all aspects of wake sports including Wakeboarding, Wakesurfing, Wake foiling and water skiing. Our sessions generally include 2 coaches for the duration of the lesson, depending on the lesson needs. We conduct an assessment of each individual rider to determine skill level and ability before constructing a custom lesson plan within each session. Our sessions don't stop there. We are all about safety, knowledge and service. We supply advice on boat purchasing, set up and basic maintenance. You will receive advice on driving techniques for various disciplines, as well as tips on boating etiquette. Anything boating and watersports, we have you covered.
Where do you offer lessons?
We are based in the Kelowna/Vernon area but if you are based in BC, we will make sure to find a way to you, no matter what. We also service the rest of North America on request. Keep in mind that surcharges may apply depending on your location. You can find our rates and travel surcharges on our Rates page.
How many people can we bring?
As many as your boat is licensed to carry, including the coaches of course. Our rates are not based on passenger or student numbers so bring as many as you would like.
What is your cancellation policy?
Due to demand, we require 48 hours for all cancellations. We operate in all conditions as long as it is safe to do so. Therefore, weather must be extreme for us to cancel such lessons. Full payments will be retained for lessons cancelled within this 48 hour period. We will always do our best to accommodate cancellations under extenuating circumstances so it's always best to discuss these with our team.
